A3 #2 @ Horizonverticaal
Studio Onvervalst invites you to A3, a traveling exhibition.
The A3, the most widely used paper format worldwide, has become indispensable in our daily lives. Think for example of posters, technical drawings and folded magazines.
As early as 1786, German scientist G. Lichtenberg wrote about the ideal ratio of paper sizes and introduced the √2 ratio, which ensures efficiency and global compatibility.
A little later, during the French Revolution, the A3 and its relatives (A0, A1, A4 and A5) were developed by the mathematician Lazare Carnot. The “3” refers to the fact that this format is halved three times from an A0 sheet.
The popular format is the starting point for new works in edition by the invited artists.
Be welcome at the opening on Sunday November 10, 15:00 – 17:00

3D. Contemporary Explorations in Concrete Sculpture
The international groupexhibition, curated together with Cologne-based artist Ivo Ringe, focuses on the present and future of plastic arts from the “concrete” section. It traces promising current trends in the work of international artists who are continuing and in the “Art Concrete” movement, which began around one hundred years ago:

GERDA KRUIMER

EN The damage to my artwork “constructief bloemmotief” and the auxiliary bridge has been in the shownews because a “well-known” Dutchman has sailed into it.
AT5, (the Amsterdam local TV channel) also made a news item of the damage to my artwork “constructief bloemmotief” on the auxiliary bridge.
Last Thursday, AT5 called for a reaction. I participated in that because I hope the municipality will take action.
On 27 June, I was informed that the damage will be repaired and possible measures will be taken to prevent damage.
I created the design for the artwork for both sides of the auxiliary bridge that was selected by the local residents and the municipality. In the design, I took into account the rules and dimensions for the artwork. The artwork and the design of the artwork are not the reasons it is being sailed against.
The execution of the components of the artworks and the way they are placed, the design of the auxiliary bridges and their construction were done by different companies commissioned by and under the responsibility of the municipality of Amsterdam.
OPEN
On 14-12-2022, the eight auxiliary bridges of the Oranje Loper Amsterdam were festively opened. Together with Micha Mos (db member stadsdeel Centrum Amsterdam), we officially opened “my” bridge.
My proposal “constructive flower motif” is chosen and developed into an art application on the auxiliary bridge over the Lijnbaansgracht next to the Jordaan Bridge near the Rozengracht in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Competition by the municipality of Amsterdam for the Orange Carpet/Oranje Loper. Placement October/December 2022.

POETIC SYSTEMS
Zaida Oenema (NL/FI), Fiene Scharp (DE), Gerda Kruimer (NL)
The exhibition Poetic Systems shows artworks by three artists: Gerda Kruimer, Fiene Scharp and Zaida Oenema. All work within their own system of grids with personal rules, of repetition, rhythm and structure, among others. They cut and/or burn in “fragile” material such as paper. The handwork creates barely visible imperfections and irregularities. The title Poetic Systems encompasses the formal approach softened by the poetic handwriting.

COVIMETRY
group exhibition, organized by Mark Starel
BWA Gallery
Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, Poland.
The international COVIMETRY exhibition is the first global manifestation of various trends in geometric art, conscious of its time.
The name COVIMETRY comes from the combination of two words: COVID (Corona Virus Desease) and GEOMETRY (any trend in geometric art: constructivist, hard edge, minimal art, op-art, concrete art, non-objective art, discursive geometry, post-conceptual geometry and others).
About 232 artists from 36 countries in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia take part in the exhibition. The starting theme for all the work was an anti-virus mask template. The works have been made in various techniques and technologies, such as: drawing, painting, graphics, collage, object, photography, mix media, computer animation, video.
